Sundays are for Brunch’n, as are Mondays, and Tuesdays…everyday is a brunch day and Glasgow has some fantastic finds dotted across the city. Whether you’re a full Scottish breakfast fan or how about delicious panna cotta covered hotcakes, (Instagram gold), there’s something for everyone, check out my favourite places to brunch in Glasgow.
In no particular order (but if I where to choose this would be the one). PotBelly in Shawlands is best for Hot Cakes, (heavenly fluffed up beautifully decorated pancakes). Small, quirky and welcoming to all, (dogs as much as kids). After something less sweet? I highly recommend the breakfast greens! Vegan? Plenty of plant based options available too.
They say people make Glasgow which couldn’t be more fitting to the Wilson Street staff. Located on the cobbled streets of Merchant City, brunch is what they do best. Eggs Benedict or Sliced Avocado with lemon on Sourdough is my go to. Laid back and friendly, serving great coffee and a hit for larger groups. It’s a 10 from me.
Brunch, lunch or afternoon tea, Cafe Creme is classic and cosy, it’s a gorgeous place to meet with friends. With delicious home cooking and baking, this family run gem is one of a kind in Glasgow, afternoon tea is their jam. With fresh brewed tea served in delicate china teacups, it’s the perfect place to stop by for a cuppa and a delicious slice of cake.
When I hear brunch, I think Brambles. It’s brunch heaven, they really do know how to do the perfect poacher, Chimichurri or French toast is my top picks. Brambles is always busy, timing is key and on occasions this place is more suited to smaller groups, (I’ve also found it to be less kid friendly at times), that said, a short wait is well worth the scrumptious food on offer.
Now this is a hidden gem, although not that hidden at all, it’s located on busy Duke Street. These guys get it right. The coffee, the food, the ambiance, weekend specials are their thing, mixing it up but never disappointing, I love the feel of this place, bring your dog but not your laptop.
Where’s your favourite brunch spot in Glasgow? I’m always on the lookout for somewhere new, brunch is definitely my thing. Let me know if you check out any of the above or if I should add to the list.
Happy Brunchin lovelies.
